Meet the maker

Hi, I'm Venus

I make handmade art under the name Orsa. My days are spent with a scalpel, a magnifier, and a lot of patience — turning thin slivers of wood into birds, butterflies, and small carved creatures.

Every piece is one of a kind. I love that the wood already holds its own colours and stories — I just help them show.

How it's made

Four slow steps

From a drawing to a finished piece — all by hand.

The drawing

Every piece starts as a full-size drawing, mapped out shape by shape.

Choosing wood

I pick 4mm solid wood pieces for their grain and colour. The wood's natural tone is the only palette.

03

Cut & fit

Each little fragment is cut by hand and fitted edge to edge, like a puzzle.

04

Finishing

Sanded, oiled, and framed — sealed to keep its glow for years.
